Nicholas Varner is a former teacher and track coach turned writer of young and new adult fantasy fiction. Known for his lyrical writing style, his book Seasons of the Blue Pearl won a Nautilus Book Award, Literary Titan Book Award, Global Book Award, and a Firebird Book Award, and it was an OZMA Award semi-finalist.
Nicholas lives with his wife Kate near the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. They share their home with two Giant Alaskan Malamutes, Bjorn and Ruby. When not writing, Nicholas and the family can be found hiking, backpacking, or wilderness camping.
